A Microwaveable Chocolate Chip Cookie…

I’ve become a huge fan of Pinterest.com. I can’t help it. It combines my favorite things into a an addicting and fun website. I love looking through all of the different pages, pinning things that I like. The pictures inspire to do things like change the decoration of the apartment a little bit, try new things in my fashion, and cook new things.

Because it’s been Balls Hot lately, I still haven’t been able to use my oven, it would make the apartment too hot. I stumbled across a promising recipe for a single-sized microwaveable chocolate chip cookie on Pinterest yesterday. When I found the website it came from, the pictures won me over! This cookie looked delicious! I had to make it.
This evening my friend, Jordan, came over and we decided to try out this recipe. We were really hoping that these cookies would be good. I used to eat those Betty Crocker microwaveable cakes, and I wondered how this cookie would compare to their chocolate chip cookie. To start these cookies, Jordan and I melted some butter in a saucepan…
And poured it into a bowl with brown and granulated sugar, some vanilla and egg yolks.

We whisked it around…

…and then added in flour and salt, and stirred it together….
We added in some semi-sweet chocolate chips…
and divided the dough between two small ramekins.
Here’s a close-up of the uncooked cookie dough. Notice how it’s flat and looks wet on the top.
We microwaved the cookies for 45 seconds each, until they were a little firm on the top.
Here’s a close-up of the cooked chocolate chip cookie. Notice how the top had risen and it looked cooked on the top.
The cookies were really hot when we pulled them out of the microwave, so we let them cool for about 5 minutes. When Jordan and I finally dug our forks into these cookies, we were happy that we each had our own. The cookie was very good; the dough was sweet and the chocolate chips were nice and gooey. As expected, it was complimented by a nice glass of milk. Jordan and I discussed the pros and cons of this microwaveable cookie recipe. Pros: It was simple, quick, tasty, cheap, and fun. You get a personal cookie! How nice is that? Cons: Microwave powers might vary = microwave cooking time will vary…that’s about it. Next time I’m craving a cookie and I don’t want to overdo it? I’ll make one of these. Whenever I need a little sugary pick-me-up, I’m going to eat one of these and feel rejuvenated. This simple chocolate chip cookie recipe is one to keep.

Add in the flour and salt.
Mix until combined.
Add in the chocolate chips.
Put the dough into a small microwaveable bowl, ramekin, or coffee cup.
Microwave for 40-60 seconds or until the cookie looks done.
